Coaker’s Walk
A short walk amidst the exquisite mountains and valleys of Kodaikanal, Coaker’s walk is a simple escape into the quaint environment of the beautiful and refreshing surroundings of the city. It was constructed by Lt. Coaker in 1872, a one-kilometre mountain road which runs along the edge of steep slopes on the southern side of Kodai road which is 1/2km away from Kodai.
The walk winding around Mt. Nebo starts near Van Allen Hospital and joins the main road above St. Peter’s Church providing a spectacular wide-angle view of the plains.
Upper Lake View
Situated 3.2 km away from the Coakers Walk, Upper Lake View is a famous tourist attraction in Kodaikanal and one which is worth visiting on the way to Green Valley viewpoint. After you reach here, you will get an appealing view of the star-shaped lake situated here and the surrounding lush greenery which looks stunning.
One can even sit by the place and admire the breathtaking view of the lake along with all the surrounding landscapes while travelling to Green Valley View Point.
Green Valley View
Formerly known as Suicide Point, the Green Valley View offers a breathtaking view of the plains, deep valleys and hills. The mesmerizing view of the Vaigai Dam is an unforgettable experience. It used to be known as a suicide point because of the dangerous valley which is dense and deep; below the point of more than 5000 feet drop.
Located 5.5 km from the Kodaikanal Lake, the Green Valley View not just offers a gorgeous view, but makes the mind and soul peaceful.
Golf Course
Kodaikanal Golf Club is a private membership club with an 18-hole, par 71 Golf course. It is located about 6 kilometres (4 mi) southwest of the centre of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, South India at an elevation of 2,220 metres (7,280 ft).
This club is notable for its age and the wildlife is frequently seen on the course. Non-members can play the full 18 holes by becoming temporary members or by paying the required green fees. Non-members must have a handicap or take lessons before they play here.
Pillar Rock
Situated in the Princess of Hill stations-Kodaikanal, the Pillar Rocks have become a lovely picnic spot. Constituting a beautiful mini garden; the place is named so as it has three vertically positioned boulders reaching up to a height of 400 feet.

Dolphin Nose
The Dolphin’s Nose viewpoint is where you can experience Kodaikanal at its best – plunging valleys, rugged terrain, clear skies, and the splendour of green embellishing the scene. As the name suggests, this viewpoint is based on a flat, protruding rock shaped like a dolphin’s nose. This forms a visible cliff at a height of 6,600 feet, with the best part being that it is accessible to the public.
Paambar Falls
The Pambar Falls are formed in continuation of the water flowing down the Fairy Falls. The elegant step-like rock cuts, add to the beauty of the plane of water cascading down. At the foot of the falls, a pond-like water body is the added attraction of the spot, where the visitors enjoy bathing in the fresh waters. Especially, the birds and butterflies contribute beautiful colours to the area surrounding the cascade, which is witnessed by large crowds.
One can take photographs of the scenic beauty of the waterfall and the area surrounding it. Pambar Falls have also been nicknamed ‘Liril Falls’ after the soap advertisement shot at the cascade in the year 1985.
Lion Cave
Lion Cave is located 100 metres from bear shola falls. This cave is very simple. Locals used to stay that in the distant past lion used to stay here. The cave is a natural formation in the middle of the forest with an entrance surrounded by trees. The way to go to the lion cave is by trekking.
Bear Shola Fall
It is a seasonal waterfall quite far from the normal touristy area of Kodaikanal but is an exclusive spot during monsoon trips. The area is filled with different flora and fauna native to Kodaikanal.
Berijam Lake
The Lake is situated at the end of Pillar Rock Road. The Lake is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kodaikanal for its serene and calm environment and sparkling water which is surrounded by beautiful hills on all sides and thus makes for a perfect picnic spot.
Kurinji Andavar Temple
Constructed in 1936, Kurinji Andavar Temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan—the God of Hills as per the Tamil literature which is set in a charming environment with Kurinji flowers surrounding the temple.
Kukkal Caves
The caves are of immense historical value for it is popular to bear the traces of the ‘Palaiyar’ tribe which is extinct now. Due to its historical significance, it is now a list of all the best Kodaikanal packages. It has gained popularity among tourists and historians for the enchanting caves have many tales to tell.
Sacred Heart College Museum
It is a very old museum which was built during the British Raj in India. The museum has almost all the real animals preserved. At the display you will get to see a variety of butterflies, and other flies, birds, leopards, tiger skeletons were huge, Elephant and crocodile head bones, and also preserved human baby of every month from 1 month to 9 months preserved. It is a must-visit place in Kodaikanal.
